Coastal Communities Adaptation

A resource for Scottish coastal communities

Your community seasonal risk calendar

Having identified the coastal changes, it is important to think about seasonal factors and when people and places could be most at risk.

Use the following Template to help to understand these factors:

Are there times in the year when the location would be more vulnerable? For example:

  • community events,
  • tourism season, holiday periods, school terms
  • storm surges/spring tides
  • seasonal activities that could be affected, such as farming, fishing, forestry

Are there times when it will be important to liaise with local authorities or other public bodies?

  • Link to community resilience teams in local authorities so that Council resilience planning is informed by local events and local risk calendars.

You can download this Risk Calendar template in Word format.
