Coastal Communities Adaptation

A resource for Scottish coastal communities

Is your coastal community concerned about the effects of a changing climate?

If you want to take local action to be more prepared for the changes that are happening faster and with greater intensity as a result of a changing climate then read on to find out more about:

  • how our coast is changing and why we need to take action to adapt
  • who does what in response to coastal change and climate impacts
  • working together for action at the coast
  • stories of change from across coastal communities
  • resources and tools to support communities

We welcome your feedback, reflections and stories of change.

We have designed this website for anyone interested in coastal change, but primarily it is for coastal communities in Scotland. More than 40% of the population of Scotland live in communities within 5km of the sea.
